Peyton Manning will go down as one of the best quarterbacks in the history of the NFL.  That would have happened at the end of his Colts playing days.  He currently shares or holds 55 NFL records and is sure to grab some more next season.  That's his legacy.

Peyton Manning's legacy is that of a winner and a fierce competitor.  You have to make it to the Super Bowl to lose the Super Bowl.  It's extremely hard to just make it there.  If there is no Manning in Denver there is no Denver in the Super Bowl.  He makes everyone around him better.

Sure his playoff record is now 11-12 but he also had to take his teams through a season in the NFL and get that team into the playoffs.  That is not easy to do.  You have to make it to the playoffs to lose games in the playoffs.  He is as Richard Sherman pointed out, a Super Bowl champion and MVP, a Hall of Famer.

I'm going to call him and his legacy what it is- GREAT.  At the end of the day you can't pick and choose what part of his career is his legacy, it's his career in it's entirety and his career has been one of the best.
