If you didn't know any better you would have thought that the Super Bowl Opening Night was all about Deion Sanders.  The NFL Network had their guys front and center asking dumbass questions.

With all of these end of year "hooray we made it to the playoffs and haven't won anything yet" celebrations, all I keep thinking about is the Deion Sanders and Tim McCarver incident.

What a moment of sports history.

I must be old fashioned, because I would love to see a Sanders-McCarver like showdown during these celebrations.  Am I the only one?

We have plenty of jerk broadcasters and arrogant athletes.  Where is the drama?

That's right.  Deion Sanders dressed up like Madonna on Lip Sync Battle to perform one of her hits.  He's not following Bruce Jenner down the transgender trail.

Although that would also be fun to see, his Madonna performance is pretty entertaining.

Deion Sanders called the Seahawks receivers average.  That didn't sit well with Doug Baldwin, who called Deion out after the Seahawks win.

But Baldwin doesn't really have a leg to stand on.  He is an average receiver, what Deion said is accurate.  Black Sports Online spelled everything out for Mr. Baldwin:

Out of the Top 80 receivers in the NFL, Doug Baldwin ranks #42 in yards, #42 in catches and is outside the top 80 in TDs, that makes him by definition an average receiver.

But it is always fun to see a person lose their mind.

Deion Sanders' ex-wife, Pilar Sanders, tweeted out audio that she recorded of her kids saying they were abused by their father.  Deion currently has full custody of the former couple's three kids.

Deion's attorney issued a statement regarding the audio, claiming it was old and had already been considered in the custody hearing that resulted in Deion being granted full custody of the three children.

For some reason Deion Sanders sat down with Larry King to discuss gay athletes and Michael Sam in particular.  Deion is of course an expert because he was a professional athlete and he has a gay cousin.

This little teaser for the full interview, that hasn't been released yet, has some Deion knowledge in it.  He starts off with that whole "I love you but not what you do" thing that homophobes do to try and prove they're not homophobic.

King asked Deion if being gay was a choice, to which Deion responded, "it could be."

King followed up that question by asking, "who would choose to be gay?"

Deion responded, "who wouldn't?"

Devin Hester broke Deion Sanders punt return touchdown record and paid tribute with a Deion high step into the end zone.  Hester now a member of one of Deion's former teams the Falcons broke the record with the former record holder in the house.

Hester was of course flagged because the NFL isn't any fun anymore.

Cincinnati Red's speed phenom, Billy Hamilton, put his incredible speed on display yesterday.  Hamilton hit a routine ground ball to the first baseman and beat him to the bag for an infield hit.  Just incredible!  I once saw Dieon Sanders ground a ball to the short stop and beat the throw, but to the first basemen?  That's unheard of.

Deion Sanders slept with his bats, according to Deion.  "Primetime" took to twitter and revealed his nightly routine before opening day.

Brett Favre on the NFL Network to talk about the Super Bowl.  Because it's the NFL and the NFL does nothing without talking with or discussing Brett Favre.

Katrina Torres took off onto the field in the 4th quarter of the Pro Bowl adding some excitement to a normally boring affair.  But after she was caught by security the 23 year old wasn't arrested due to the power of Deion Sanders.  Well not exactly Torres ran on the field for her paralyzed cousin and wasn't carted off to jail for the action but she was banned from the stadium for a year.  Giving her plenty of time to plan a run on the field at next year's Pro Bowl.

As you know the NFL has moved to a new format for the Pro Bowl.  No conferences and the teams will be drafted.  It's the leagues latest effort to try to get fans interested in the game, this years captains are Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders.

Deion Sanders might want to hold on to that and look at it instead of this terrible Houston, Jacksonville game.  Primetime was doing his pregame warm ups with a lingerie calendar.  He looks a little confused.
