Jimmy's Seafood tweeted out that Manny Machado gets free crab cakes, steamed crab and meal prep for life for his right hand to Yordano Ventura's skull.

It might only be spring training, but that doesn't mean Manny Machado can't do Manny Machado things.  The Orioles third baseman made a diving stop on a ball down the line and threw the runner out from his knees.

Kevin Kiermaier robbed Manny Machado of a lead off homerun in the bottom of the first inning.  If it's not the catch of the year it's up there.

Kiermaier was fully extended and timed the jump perfectly.  He got a little love from the pitcher as well.

Hell of a play.  It's too bad both of these teams suck and nobody was there to see it.

Clearly Gary Thorne made a mistake during this ground out.  As Manny Machado threw out Albert Pujols at first, he said Pujols was retarded instead of retired.  Everyone knows that he meant to say, but that's not what came out of his mouth.  What came out of his mouth is pretty funny.

Manny Machado went down like a ton of bricks following a swing that resulted in a ground out to short.  He had to be helped off of the field and things looked bad for the young third baseman and the first place Orioles.

It turns out however to just be a sprained knee which is good news, considering how bad it looked when it happened.  There is no word, as of now, to how much time Machado will miss.

The strength of Manny Machado's arm is on full display on this play.  The young Orioles third baseman has made this play before, but it is not any less impressive.  There are very few even among the professional ranks that can make this throw so far in foul territory and pretty much flat footed.

Not to mention the fact that he made this throw and got the runner out.  Sure it was Albert Pujols and he's not the swiftest of foot, but he would have gotten a pretty large number of other MLBers too.

Before the Orioles took the field on Monday night and after a team meeting, Manny Machado got in front of a camera and apologized for his actions over the weekend.  Because everything is a soap opera now.

In part Machado had this to say:

“I want to apologize to all my teammates, my coaching staff, the entire Orioles organization, and Oakland and to my fans for the way I acted,” said Machado, who is facing a suspension from the league. “That’s not the way we play baseball around here.”

I've read a lot about how sincere it is and he deserves the benefit of doubt because he's so young.  BULLSHIT!

He's 26 years old, he's not a fucking baby.  He deserves to be suspended, he threw a bat at someone on purpose.  Stop making excuses for him because he can hit a baseball and he's a "good" guy.

And if it was so sincere why did the apology come after a team meeting?  And why didn't he apologize to the A's first?

It's a sad attempt by a player and an organization to reduce his suspension.

If anyone saw the Manny Machado hissy fit this weekend and took his side then you're an idiot.



Machado was upset when he was tagged by Oakland A's third baseman Josh Donaldson, on what seemed to be a routine play.

Routine that is until Machado, who fell down on the play jumped up and slammed his helmet in Donaldson's direction.  Not upset that he had been tagged out, no instead upset at what he thought was too aggressive of a tag.

That should have been the end of his little tantrum, but it wasn't.  Because in Donaldson's next at bat he was hit with a pitch.  So his Orioles teammates agreed with Machado's outrage.

Now of course the benches cleared and by the end of the night nobody was happy.

Manny Machado suffered a gruesome injury to his knee after running to first on a ground ball.  But that wasn't all.  The second baseman almost makes an incredible catch before slamming his head into the right fielders leg.  And to top it off the Rays won the game 5-4.
