The Chargers Played A Complete Game
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
Thursday night was a night to remember for the Chargers. They found a way to play a full four quarters of football. In doing so they beat the defending Super Bowl champs.
Philip Rivers was a giddy child following the game. I'm sure next week they'll be back to blowing 4th quarter leads as only they can.

Philip Rivers Called The Chargers 5th Straight Loss Sickening
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
The Chargers loss Monday night to the Chicago Bears was their 5th straight this season. Almost all of them were close games.
Philip Rivers summed up the losing streak by saying, "it's pretty sickening."
It's hard to argue with that. The Chargers could very easily be 7-2 not 2-7 if some of those games would have gone their way late.
They only have one double digit loss all season and they've managed to lose two in a row by 3 points.
You almost have to try to do that.

Philip Rivers Is Changing The Celebration Game

Philip Rivers celebrated a pick six with the some of the whitest moves you'll ever see. Some sort of high step followed by some fives. It may forever change the celebration game.
What an awkward dude.

The Internet Thought Philip Rivers Punched A Bird
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
Following a Chargers touchdown last night, Philip Rivers was seen punching something out of the air.
The internet ran wild with rumors that he had punched a bird and to be fair it kind of looks like a bird. But it's not. It was actually Rivers' glove.
Think about it, who would celebrate a touchdown by punching a bird?

Vikings Head Coach Said Philip Rivers Is One Of The Best QBs Of All Time
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said Philip Rivers is one of the best quarterbacks of all time. He seriously said that.
Rivers has been a pretty good quarterback so far in his career, but there is no way he's one of the best QBs of all time. If I was in the Vikings front office I'd recommend that Zimmer be fired immediately.
It was ridiculous enough when Jerry Jones claimed that you wouldn't see a more gifted passer than Brandon Weeden. But at least he's on his team.
Vikes HC Mike Zimmer on Rivers: "He’s really tough. I really love everything about him. In my opinion he’s one of the best QBs of all-time."

Philip Rivers Is Staying With The Chargers

ICYMI: We have agreed to terms with Philip Rivers on a four-year contract extension through 2019. pic.twitter.com/p4otw2RtAf
— #ChargersCamp (@Chargers) August 16, 2015
The San Diego Chargers and Philip Rivers reached an agreement late Saturday night on an $84 million dollar extension. The contract will keep Rivers in a Chargers uniform for four more years and guarantees the quarterback $65 million dollars.
By the time the contract ends Rivers will be 37 years old, making this likely his last long term deal.
With all of the rumors about the Chargers shopping Rivers it didn't seem like a deal was anywhere close to being completed. It looks like the Chargers were serious about keeping him and may have been exploring possible trades as a last resort if a deal couldn't be reached.

Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest

Peyton Manning appeared a little upset with something on the field towards the end of the Broncos 35-21 victory over the Chargers. When asked why he was upset with Broncos fans by reporters, Manning said it wasn't the fans he was upset with.
Manning said he was upset with the scoreboard operator for showing Broncos players dancing and for showing Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers.

The Chargers Finished Second in a Softball Tournament
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
The Philip Rivers led Chargers softball team finished second in a softball tournament. Sounds like the NFL Chargers to me. This proves you need more than athletic ability, via For The Win:
Led by captain Philip Rivers, who organized the team as a fun offseason activity, the squad of professional athletes made it to the finals of the San Diego Wednesday night men’s league before falling to Randy Jones Invitational, a team named after a local golf tournament. (The tournament sponsored their jerseys.) The Randy Jones Invitational had already beaten the Chargers twice during the regular season, and finished them off again the finals.Wow they didn't just beat them in the championship game, a bunch of weekend warriors beat a team of professional athletes three times.

Where Will Hakeem Nicks End Up?
Email ThisBlogThis!Share to TwitterShare to FacebookShare to Pinterest
Hakeem Nicks is sure to receive a lot of attention in free agency. The we have to assume, former Giants receiver has reportedly put a few thoughts of his own out there, naming three quarterbacks (none named Eli) as guys he could see himself catching passes from Andrew Luck, Philip Rivers and Cam Newton.
In his quote, Hakeem Nicks mentions Andrew Luck, Philip Rivers and Cam Newton. Not the QB who constantly defended him last season. Not #NYG.
