Jose Fernandez has been impressive on the mound ever since he stepped foot on a major league field.  This play he pulled off where he fields a weak chopper, then fakes to first and gets the runner attempting to score is just as impressive.

Fans came out to support the Clippers in Los Angeles and some made it very clear who they were there for.  The Clippers were able to bounce back in game 5 and with the game to take a 3-2 lead in the series.

Should we be surprised?  Not when it's Anderson Silva.  He's shown a remarkable ability to recover from his devastating broken leg.  Working out and walking without crutches way before anybody expected.  So to see him in the ring already shouldn't be that big of a shock.  But it's still very impressive and validates the fact that we haven't seen the last of Silva in the ring.

The Warriors were going to go through pre-game warm-ups and take part in the national anthem and starting line-up introductions. They were going to take the floor for the jump ball, dapping up the Clippers players as is customary before games.  

Then once the ball was in the air, they were just going to walk off. All 15 of them.

The rumored walk out was confirmed by Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry who had this to say about the plans to walk out.

“It would have been our only chance to make a statement in front of the biggest audience that we weren’t going to accept anything but the maximum punishment,” Curry said. “We would deal with the consequences later but we were not going to play.”

I'm glad it didn't have to come to that and that the NBA took the appropriate steps to punish Donald Sterling, but I'm also glad that they planned to walk out if the maximum penalty wasn't handed down.

New York's Ichiro Suzuki hit a foul ball line drive that ended up hitting a woman in the head.  I don't know if she wasn't paying attention or lost the ball, but she doesn't appear to try to get out of the way at all.  She took a direct shot line drive off of the bat of a major leaguer to the dome.

Former NBA star Shaquille O'Neal posted a picture of himself on instagram mocking a disabled man.  Shaq, now an NBA analyst, has since deleted the post.

But the damage has been done, as the mocked man did see the picture before it was deleted.  A fan of Shaq who is now understandably upset, via NY Post:

“I’ve been getting teased since I was yay (sic) tall. People laugh at me, stare at me,” Binion said. “I was kind of hurt because I’ve always looked up to him. I’ve watched Shaq play basketball since I was (inaudible), so I was like, why are you making fun of me? He is supposed to be this role model.”

In his first at bat back in New York, Yankees fans booed Robinson Cano.  When he took the field the bleacher creatures chanted "sell out."

Then we saw one of the more clever signs directed at the once beloved second baseman.

Leave it up to FOX News.  They had a "reporter" from "The Kelly File" ask a question about the Donald Sterling banning at the NBA press conference on his comments.  The question is about as stupid as you'd expect.

She asked, "Should someone lose their team for remarks shared in private?  Is this a slippery slope?"

The "slippery slope" is clearly buzz words that the morons attempted to work into the question without success as Adam Silver was having none of that type of questioning.

But there is new information coming out that Sterling had a problem paying white basketball players, feeding even more into this plantation mentality.

The Clippers owner reportedly was hesitant to sign off on the trade that brought JJ Redick to the Clippers, because he didn't want to pay a white basketball player the type of money that Redick makes, via Larry Brown Sports:

Mostly, he’s never loved paying white players. In that way, he has an absolute plantation prism with which he sees players: He always preferred long, strong, physical players. To him, that’s a basketball player: Big, black and strong 

When Sterling became reluctant to honor Rivers’ sign-and-trade agreement for J.J. Redick, there was a belief race played a factor. As one league source said, “He thought it was too much to pay for a white player.”

Yes, Sterling didn’t want to so easily part with Eric Bledsoe, despite Rivers telling him they could never afford to pay Bledsoe in restricted free agency next summer. That was part of it, yes, but those who knew Sterling – who had history with him – believed largely that his disdain for paying $7 million per year for a white player caused him pause.

It too insane not to be true, especially when you hear his backwards thinking on tape.  The man is clearly too toxic for the NBA and his removal is the right move.

Former Redskin Josh Morgan, now a Chicago Bear, punched a valet driver for looking at his girlfriend.  The wide receiver was charged with simple assault and is denying the charges.  The Bears are aware of the arrest, but there is no word on any discipline.

The victim in the case is talking to the news and said the following about what happened to him, via NBC Washington:

"I was just standing there and I looked up, and in the blink of an eye he just punched me right in the mouth," Johnson said. "Instantly my mouth is bleeding profusely, just blood coming out all over my jacket and stuff. I was scared. I didn't know what to do."

One fed up Pacers fan was captured by the NBA TV mics giving Paul George hell.  It all went down after George was called for a travel.  The Pacers struggled mightily in the game and eventually lost giving the Hawks a 3-2 series lead.

DeJuan Blair and Tiago Splitter got tangled up on a play in game 4 of the Spurs/Mavericks series and after they went to the ground Blair kicked Splitter.  I'm not really sure what Blair was trying to do and it didn't help matters as the Spurs evened the series at 2 games a piece with the game 4 victory.

Cheerleaders doing parody videos or dance videos of popular songs has been an increasing and welcome phenomenon around the NFL.  Along with behind the scenes photo shoot videos these have been very popular.  This time it's the Washington Redskins cheerleader squad who got into the action, doing a parody of that annoying Selfie song via Black Sports Online:

The Heat did the mid court warm up shirts in a pile protest.  The same one the Clippers did, but the Heat weren't distracted like the Clippers.  They finished the sweep of the Bobcats winning game 4, 109-98.  The NBA has a press conference scheduled for today and decisive action needs to be taken or there will be far more than piles of warm up jerseys at mid court to worry about.

And this is exactly why women shouldn't play sports, I'm kidding of course. Kara Oberer of Eckerd College, hit a three-run home run with two outs in the top of the seventh inning to put her team on top and blew out her knee rounding first base.

That's when the players from Florida Southern College helped her finish her trip around the bases.  One thing to point out is at the end of the video the hurt player is picked up by just one chick, talk about softball strong via For The Win:

V. Stiviano is now being harassed by the media for releasing the now infamous Donald Sterling racist tapes.  To combat some of that media harassment, Stiviano was spotted leaving her house in a visor that MJ would be proud of- the King of Pop that is not the King of the Hardwood, via Dead Spin:

Vince Carter hit a buzzer beater at the end of game 3 that gave the Mavericks a 1 point win over the Spurs and put then up 2-1 in the series.  Dallas isn't your typical 8 seed and is proving that in the series with San Antonio.

Clippers president Andy Roeser released a statement about Donald Sterling's racist comments.  The statement is absolutely absurd and even attacks the woman who exposed his racism, V. Stiviano.  The Clippers need to play the next game with their jersey's inside out not just their shoot around clothes.

Everyone is focusing their energy on Donald Sterling and his comments and rightfully so.  But let's not forget the brave young woman who exposed Sterling for what he really is.  V. Stiviano is the woman who recorded the conversation with Sterling and it's her instagram account that set him off.

So first thing I did was check it out and what I found out was not only is she brave, but she's beautiful too and loves her Clippers!  I decided to show her some love because whenever racism is confronted and defeated it took a brave person to stand up against it, she is that brave person.

Mo Williams was seen walking up to Troy Daniels following the three point victory over the Rockets in game 4.  A couple of Williams' teammates knew he was up to no good and can be seen running up to and then removing Williams from the situation.

Williams has somewhat of a reputation for running his mouth so it's not really a big surprise, but if you're leading a series 3 games to 1 as the Trail Blazers are you don't want to give the other team any extra incentive.

Stephen Curry is used to beautiful women and we saw two of them celebrating is 3 point shooting prowess against the Clippers.  His mother and wife were on camera several times cheering on Steph and I could figure out who was hotter.

PED user and liar Ryan Braun hit his teammate in the face with a bat.  While I too thought it might have been some roid rage incident it turns out Braun doesn't know what the on deck circle is for.  The moron was swinging a bat in the dugout when Jean Segura was struck in the face with the bat, Segura had to leave the game, via Fat Man Writing:

Jon Jones took on and beat Glover Teixeira at his own game in Baltimore at UFC 172 over the weekend.  Jones was very loose before the fight even doing Ray Lewis' dance before the fight.  He won the fight pretty easily retaining his belt in the process.

California's own Snoop Dogg weighed in on the racist comments of Donald Sterling as only he could.  Snoop lets him have it.  This is how you respond to racism!  via Holy Taco:

Did anyone know before he just did that, that Blake Griffin had those kind of handles?  Damn, more than a dunker indeed.  He just lead a fast break and went around the back before dishing it off.  Who needs a point guard when your power forward can dribble like this?

Toronto Blue Jay Juan Fransisco hit a ball as far as you'll see one hit in Toronto.  The bomb made it to the fourth deck in right field.  To say he got all of it might be an understatement.

Referee Joe Crawford appears to be guarding Stephen Curry on this three point shot.  Game 4 has been an odd one up to this point and this is an example of that.  Curry came out on fire from beyond the arc and he was unstoppable even when a ref tries to guard him.

Golden State Warriors fans brought out their signs mocking Clippers owner Donald Sterling and his racist comments.  Obviously there is no room for Sterling or his comments in professional basketball and although humorous the sign does strike back against the type of hatred that came through it his ridiculous comments.

Prior to game 4 of their playoff series against Golden State the Clippers walked to the center of the court and removed their Clippers shoot around jerseys and did the shoot around in plain red shirts.  A unified stand against the team owner Donald Sterling's comments.

One of my favorite cheerleader squads is back at it!  They're posting videos again!  The Texans cheerleaders are some of the most social media savvy and are always willing to give sneak peeks of photo shoots.

TMZ broke the story that the Clippers owner Donald Sterling is a racist by releasing an audio conversation between Sterling and his girlfriend V. Stiviano.  Sterling's comments are absolutely insane and racist, especially when you consider that his girlfriend is black and Mexican.

John Wall dropped an audible F bomb that was picked up by the telecast and Wizards big man Nene was ejected for headbutt followed by Muay Thai clinch.

First the F bomb!  Wall was trying to encourage his team to play some fucking D and the all access TV camera got all up in his grill as he dropped the swear word.



Now to the Nene headbutt and MMA style clinch.  Nene and Jimmy Butler got tangled up after a Nene basket and a couple of innocent shoves were exchanged, but Nene doesn't play and the Wizards big man headbutted and then got Butler in the clinch before the two were separated and Nene was ejected.

All that passion and energy and they lost the game 100-97.  They still have a 2 games to 1 lead over the Bulls, but Nene is likely to be suspended so that won't help.

Meghan Duggan (yeah you don't know who she is so I'll tell you) is the caption of the woman's Olympic hockey team, mocked Michael Pineda's pine tar neck during her first pitch at Fenway.  First of all you're wearing a Red Sox jersey so it's supposed to be on your forearm or glove and second get off the fucking field, baseball is for men!

Shaq and Charles Barkley seem to be doing all they can to get fired from "Inside the NBA."  The latest incident has Shaq telling Charles that he kissed dick in the mouth.  He was referring to a referee by the name of Dick Bavetta, but the two make it clear that it could mean something completely different.

There is a rumor that on of the hottest WAG's around, the newly engaged Katherine Webb, maybe replacing departed Extra host Maria Menounos, via Guyism:



Only sure to add fuel to that fire is the picture Webb posted to instagram of herself on the set of Extra doing an interview.

This is a catch like no other you've seen before.  Desmond Jennings made a last second swipe at the ball before running into the fence and held on.  Not only did he cover a huge amount of ground, but his glove work is amazing.

I've seen a lot of baseball in my day and I've never seen a ball caught the way Jennings caught this one.

Golden State played a very poor game for most of game 3, but were within 2 points with the ball in the final seconds of the game.  The ball was in Stephen Curry's hands and as he went up for a 3 pointer he appeared to have been fouled by Chris Paul, but nothing was called the Clippers got the rebound and the game was over.

Larry Bird displayed his frustrations with the old fashioned face in hands pose.  He is clearly unhappy with the Pacers play as they dropped game 3 and are down 2-1 to the Atlanta Hawks.  First round struggles were not supposed to be in the cards for this team but they're making it look really difficult.

Russell Westbrook nails an incredible 3 point shot and forces a foul with his team down by 4.  Another 4 point play for the OKC Thunder.  Kevin Durant had a 4 point play in game 2 to help force overtime and they used Westbrook's incredible play to force another overtime.

As was the case in game 2 the 4 point play wasn't enough and the Thunder lose their second straight overtime game.  Falling to the Grizzlies 98-95.

Prior to Thursday nights game 3 loss to the Atlanta Hawks, Indiana Pacers GM, Kevin Pritchard, sent out a tweet about the status of head coach Frank Vogel's job.

Again that was prior to the game 3 loss and you have to think, despite the tweet, that if the Pacers get bounced in the first round by the Atlanta Hawks his job will be in jeopardy.  The Pacers lost 98-85 on Thursday night and are now down 2 games to 1.  They continue to play horrible basketball, with the expectations so high a first round loss should be a fireable offense.

Arguably the best corner back in the NFL and certainly a key figure in the Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl victory, Richard Sherman is entering the last year of his current deal.  So of course the Seahawks don't want to lose him and have started the all important contract extension talks.

Ever since news broke that the two sides were discussing a new deal, speculation has run wild and rumors are Sherman will come out of this as the highest paid corner in the NFL.  So what does Sherman think of all of this?  NFL Network's Albert Breer tweeted what Sherman had to say about the contract negotiations:


There is no doubt in my mind that Sherman is the best corner and should ,and one way or another, will be the highest paid corner.

That's right, the Buffalo Bills will be without a cheerleader squad for the 2014 season.  The Buffalo Jills management company has decided to suspend operations following the lawsuit filed by former Jills, via HuffPo:

Stephanie Mateczun, whose company manages the Buffalo Jills cheerleading squad, said Thursday she has suspended operations through at least the end of the season. The decision was made two days after five former Jills filed a lawsuit complaining they worked hundreds of hours for free, and were subjected to groping and sexual comments.

Now I'm all for the livable wage and sharing some of that NFL pie with the cheerleaders, but lets not go nuts and remove them from the sidelines!

Today it was announced that MLB has decided to suspend the Yankees pitcher for 10 days and he will not appeal that decision, via MLB:

Pineda said that he would not appeal the suspension, which began on Thursday as the Yankees and Red Sox play the third and final game of their series in Boston.

"I'll accept it because I know I make a mistake," Pineda said. "That's it."

Red Sox manager John Farrell talked about the incident saying he knows everyone uses it but that you can't be that obvious with it.  Red Sox catcher A.J. Pierzynski even offered up some hiding places for the pine tar, via NESN:

“I don’t have a problem with guys who do it,” Pierzynski said. “I know as a hitter, I want to get in there and know the guy has (control), especially on a night when it’s cold (and) it was windy. Put it on your hat, put it on your pants, put it on your belt, put it on your glove, whatever you’ve got to do. But at some point, you just can’t do it that blatantly, and I think that’s what the biggest issue was. No one has an issue with him doing it. I think it’s more of the fact he just did it so blatantly.”

So Pineda will no doubt learn to hide it better like Clay Bucholtz (on the forearm) and Jon Lester (on the glove).

This time at the Yankees-Red Sox game in Boston and it may have ties to the rivalry.

An adult swooped in and snagged a ball that Xander Bogaerts tossed to a kid in the stands.  I'm going to assume the adult was a Red Sox fan (he appears to be wearing a Patriots jacket) and you can clearly see the kid is a Yankees fan.  Bogaerts was trying to do the right thing and toss the kid a ball, no matter what team he was supporting.

The worst part about it is the man turns and sees there was a kid there and still keeps the ball.  Now he does turn and hand the ball to some one out of the frame of the video, it could have been a kid.  But it also could have been his girlfriend or wife.  Either way it was still a dick move because Bogaerts was clearly throwing it to the kid.

He's only 2 years old and his intense fist pump earned him some free tickets to Saturday's Penguins playoff game.  His name is Tyler Avolia and he's already obsessed with hockey and is a big Penguins fan, via Fox43:

Wrigley Field turned 100 yesterday and they released balloons and sang happy birthday, yes they sang happy birthday to an inanimate object, then they played the game.  And the Cubs being the Cubs (a team that has never won the World Series) blew the game.

That's right the Cubs led the game 5-2 into the 9th inning and it looked like they were going to celebrate 100 years with a victory.  Then the 9th inning happened and in true Cubs fashion they blew the game giving up 5 runs and ultimately losing 7-5.  A purely poetic end to the Wrigley Field birthday celebration.

When Tracy McGrady announced after his retirement from basketball that he would be pursuing a pro baseball career many were skeptical.  But now the former NBA star is a professional baseball player.  McGrady made the opening day roster and signed a contract with the Sugar Land Skeeters of the Independent League.

During the playoff blowout of the Golden State Warriors, some Clippers fans had to find other things to do.  It's hard to stay entertained during a blowout in the playoffs.  You don't want to leave because you paid good money to be there, so you get a little creative.

That or maybe he smelled something and wanted to make sure it wasn't him.  You gotta check things like that out, either way I'm glad someone recorded it and the folks at Busted Coverage posted it.

The ESPN cameras followed Micheal Pineda as he went down into the tunnel following his pine tar ejection last night against the Boston Red Sox.  Joe Girardi saw this and politely moved the camera so that it was no longer pointing at his ejected pitcher.

Harden's focus was on the defensive side of the ball, when it seems like a certain reporter wanted to force the offensive side of the ball into the conversation.  But I agree with Harden, the Rockets win both game 1 and 2 if they stop Aldridge, so the issues is on the defensive side of the ball.

After this post game session ended Harden went to the reporter who seemed to be pushing the offensive struggles and had a little exchange, via The Oregonian:

But when his media session in the Rockets opulent locker room ended, Harden went back at the reporter, asking if he had ever seen a player not play well before. The reporter answered that the struggle seemed unusual for Harden and was coming on a major stage, the playoffs. 

The two went back and forth for a while, with Harden asking the reporter if he’d ever seen a basketball game before, then demanding to know whom the reporter was. The exchange got testy enough that team officials stepped in to usher Harden out.

As he left the room, Harden called the reporter “weirdo.”

Late in a close game 2, Josh McRoberts wasn't giving up any easy baskets and definitely wasn't going to be posterized.  So when LeBron James went up for a shot around the rim, McRoberts gave him the McElbow.

Somehow a flagrant foul was not called, maybe due to Lebron's history of flopping.  Either way it didn't matter the Heat won game 2 and lead the series 2-0.

The Indiana Pacers struggled down the stretch and limped into the playoffs, after a very good start to the season.  That coupled with a huge game 1 loss to the Atlanta Hawks in the payoffs has put Frank Vogel's job as head coach in question.

The Pacers will likely have to advance far into the playoffs to save Vogel's job.  So how does Tony Romo fit into all of this?  Well ESPN put Romo's picture up as Vogel's.  Maybe a little subliminal message to everyone.

Los Angeles Lakers rising star, Nick Young aka Swaggy P, threw out the first pitch at a Dodgers game.  Let's just say it didn't go very well.  While he might have some awesome athletic ability it appears to be just on the court.

What happened to everyone uses it and it's not a big deal?  John Farrell knows his pitchers use substances all the time so expect some retaliation the next time Lester or Bucholtz are on the mound.  The Red Sox called attention to the fact that Michael Pineda had pine tar on his neck and he was ejected.



Pineda should have had a George Brett like reaction to being ejected and maybe it would be overturned.

Yunel Escobar strikes out on 4-2 pitch.  That's right, the rare 4-2 pitch and that's because the umpires didn't know the count.  But it doesn't matter right because instant replay fixes everything.  Wait, what?  They reviewed the count prior to the 4-2 pitch that Escobar was called out on and still got it wrong.

Peyton Manning visits a Denver area elementary school for gym class.  I swore I wasn't going to mention the ankle socks, but I have to- what is up with Peyton's ankle socks?  Anyway the Broncos QB is either implementing a new off season workout or the whole recruiting processes has gone way too far.

The Montreal Canadiens wrapped up the sweep of the Tampa Bay Lightening on Tuesday night with a 4-3.  You have to believe that the pregame ceremonies the Canadiens put together sets the tone for victory.  This is why hockey is best played in Canada.

I can't make this stuff up.  Drake was court side for game 2 of his Toronto Raptor's playoff game against the Brooklyn Nets and the lint overwhelmed him.  He breaks out a lint roller and begins to straighten his situation up, just keepin it 100, via Larry Brown Sports:

I told you yesterday about Merril Hoge's insane statements regarding Jadeveon Clowney and the number pick overall.  Well now Warren Sapp has joined in on dissing Clowney, but Sapp's pick is even more nuts than Hoge's.

Sapp said he would take Teddy Bridgewater over Clowney.  Bridgewater isn't even the best quarterback in the draft class and had a horrible pro day.

John Wall may have taken a kicked ball to the face, but it's his Wizards team that is kicking the Chicago Bulls in the face.  The Wizards lead the series 2-0 as the head to Washington with a chance to close it out.

The favored Bulls lost last night's game in overtime 101-99 and will need to get some wins on the road to save their season.

Albert Pujols hit 499 and 500 on Tuesday night in Washington.  Pujols becomes the third youngest to reach 500 home runs and just the 26th player to hit 500 or more in the history of the game.  With all of the PED use circulating in the last 20 or 30 years of the game, does 500 home runs mean the same as it used to?

Pujols hasn't been mentioned in any PED stories so you have to believe he's done it legitimately and to me the 500 mark is still impressive, especially for a guy with a clean name.

The Easter brawl between the Pirates and Brewers has resulted in suspensions.  Martin Maldonado receives the harshest of the suspensions (five games) for his punch to Travis Snider's eye.  Maldonado knocked the cover off of the ball and the bruise into Snider's eye all in the same series.  Happy Easter everyone, see the punch below.

Jadeveon Clowney wowed everyone with his pro day, but according tot he all knowing Merril Hoge, Clowney is a great athlete and not a good football player.  Hoge was singing the praises of Khalil Mack.

Hoge, who must be getting paid by someone in the Mack camp, said he would take Mack over Clowney with the first pick of the draft.  Does he know something everyone else in football doesn't?  Because he's the only guy saying these things.

Charles Barkley let the Pacers have it following their game 1 defeat at the hands of the Atlanta Hawks.  The Pacers enter the playoffs as the number 1 seed in the east and Barkley says they, "played like wussies."  He notes he's only calling them wussies because of the FCC.

So play a little word game to figure out what he wants to call them.  The Hawks did beat them 101-93.

Holy shit Jason Giambi is still playing and at age 43 is still receiving the shift.  Giambi's geriatric pop up in foul territory by third base was no match for Alcides Escobar.  That's because despite playing all the way by the second base bag he has foul territory by third base covered too.

He's got a little thing that Money Ball can't figure out and that's incredible range.  I'm sure Brian Kenny would say the shift worked too.

The Seattle Seahawks have acquired Terrelle Pryor from the Oakland Raiders.  Quarterback controversy in Seattle?  Okay that's unlikely considering Pryor lost his job to Matt McGloin last year and Seattle's starting QB took his team to and won the Super Bowl.  So why did the Seahawks trade fro Pryor?

Will he simply fight with Tavaris Jackson to be Russell Wilson's backup?  Or do the Seahawks plan to use his athletic abilities at another position?  Time will tell, but it seems they have a plan for Pryor.

Keyshawn Johnson was arrested for domestic violence after an incident involving his girlfriend.  TMZ reports that during the altercation, Johnson smashed his girlfriend's phone some how cutting her hand.

According to law enforcement ... Keyshawn was involved in a fight with his girlfriend when things allegedly got physical. Sources say he smashed her phone, causing a gash to her hand.

Following the arrest the ESPN analyst was seen with his girlfriend at an AT&T store, presumably making things right.  So far no word on any disciplinary action from ESPN.

This is why Kevin Durant is the league MVP!  Durant hit an incredible three pointer while being fouled for a four point play as time expired to help force overtime.  Despite Durant's efforts to keep the game alive the Memphis Grizzlies evened the series at a game a piece winning 111-105 in overtime.

But the loss doesn't take away from Durant's clutch play, a must see.

Well I guess I was wrong about hockey injury selfies being the new thing!  It's crossed over to baseball.  Delino DeShields Jr., the 21 year old son of former MLBer Delino DeShields is playing in Double A this season.  The Houston Astros' prospect took a fastball to the face on Friday.

So naturally, as has become the craze with hockey players, DeShields tweeted out a pic of the injury and man I definitely looks like the baseball won the fight.

Carlos Gomez of the Milwaukee Brewers is an asshole.  First he stands and watches a ball he hits, that didn't go over the fence, then goes nuts after the pitcher says something to him.  If you wanna stand there and watch make sure it's over the fence and you have to expect that people aren't going to like it when you stand and watch it.  So take the criticism like a man.

The benches cleared after Gomez had something said to him for standing and watching a ball that hit the top of the fence.  I get there are two sides to this coin and if you don't want him to stand there and watch it then get him out, I get it.  But if you stand there and watch and someone says something, be a man about it.

Gregg Popovich is know just as much for his short interviews as Craig Sager is for his outrageous suits.  So when it was announced that Sager would not be working the NBA Playoffs this year, due to a recent diagnosis of lukemia, we knew we would be without one of those usual sights.

Little did we know that when Sager's son, Craig Sager Jr., was scheduled to interview Popovich, we would be without the short, emotionless, Popovich interviews as well.

Okay maybe he's not, but he's definitely hanging out with the Duck Dynasty folks chopping some wood.  Jase Robertson, one of the guys on Duck Dynasty, posted this picture of an extremely jacked Tim Tebow chopping some wood on twitter.

Milwaukee's Martin Maldonado did what every baseball player in the word wants to do.  He hit a baseball so hard the cover came off.  Check out the failed attempt by the third baseman to field and throw it.

Cincinnati Red's speed phenom, Billy Hamilton, put his incredible speed on display yesterday.  Hamilton hit a routine ground ball to the first baseman and beat him to the bag for an infield hit.  Just incredible!  I once saw Dieon Sanders ground a ball to the short stop and beat the throw, but to the first basemen?  That's unheard of.

Anaheim Duck, Ryan Getzlaf took a puck to the face in the closing seconds of the Ducks first playoff game against the Dallas Stars.  After the puck to the face comes the selfie, which his brother Chris posted to twitter.

Mike Tyson was in Pittsburgh, so naturally he would throw out the first pitch of the Pirates game, naturally.  Tyson awkwardly threw the pitch to Pittsburgh's, Tony Sanchez, then while posing for pictures pretends like he's biting his ear.

Yasiel Puig had himself an interesting afternoon in San Francisco.  The Dodgers right fielder dropped an "routine" fly ball to right, after looking a bit too relaxed, then picked the ball up and still got the force out at second.  He then makes an incredible over the shoulder catch on a wind guided line drive.  Just to add that little extra love/hate for those who love and/or hate him, check it out.

How else should you end the season?  It was a disappointing one for the Sacramento Kings, who aren't playing any playoff basketball this year.  Still they found a way to have fun, Extra Mustard:

Pablo Larrazabal was attacked by hornets at the Malaysian Open and was forced to jump in the water to get away from them.  Despite being stung over 20 times he did continue, via CBS New York:

“I didn’t know what to do. My caddie told me to run, so I start running like a crazy guy, but the hornets were still there, so the other players told me to jump in the lake,” Larrazabal said. “I ran to the lake, threw my scorecard down, took off my shoes and jumped in the water. It was the scariest moment of my career, for sure. I’ve never been so scared.”

Yangervis Solarte hit his first major league home run against Tampa Bay last night.  After the home run John Sterling, the Yankees radio announcer momentarily lost his mind and broke out in song.  After dubbing him "never nervous Yangervis," he breaks out in "Solarte, oh, oh."

The New York Yankees had everything working on Thursday night against the Tampa Bay Rays.  They took care of business at the plate and with the glove.  The Yankees beat the Rays 10-2 and turned a triple play.

With the season finally over for the Knicks and Carmelo Anthony the question now is, has Carmelo played his last game as a Knick?  He finished the season in street clothes due to a tear in his shoulder that doesn't require surgery as the Knicks missed the playoffs, the first time Carmelo has missed them in his career.

Today was the exit interviews for the players and Carmelo sent a pretty clear message to thin Knicks, if they want him to stay then they need to assemble a winner, via CBS Sports:

“I want to come back,” Anthony said Thursday at the Tarrytown practice facility. “I want to come back. If me wanting to be here, if we can put ourselves in a position to compete at a high level over the course of five years, whatever that contract will be, I'm willing to stay here. I never once said I wanted to leave. I always said I want to explore options and see what's out there.”

Seems like a pretty clear indication of what it will take to keep him in New York.  With Phil Jackson at the controls will they be able to accomplish that?

The Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League have signed former NFL wide receiver, Chad Johnson.  The 36 year old Johnson last played in the NFL in 2012 as a member of the Miami Dolphins.  His off the field issues forced the Dolphins to cut him in August of that year.  Is T.O. to follow?

A mug shot of ex-Eagle, Donovan McNabb, was released today with no information as to why it was being released.  TMZ is reporting that the mug shot is from a January DUI arrest involving the FOX Sports co-host.

1:00 PM PT -- Law enforcement tells us the mug shot stems from a DUI arrest in January.

We're told McNabb hashed out a plea deal with prosecutors and was sentenced to 1 day in an Arizona jail.

One law enforcement source tell us McNabb has already served his time ... though it's unclear when that happened.

He slept on it another day and has decided to go get paid.  Although unlimited meals and snacks was probably a strong reason to stay a huge NBA salary probably was the deciding factor.  Parker wrote about his decision in an article posted at Sports Illustrated and here is how he came to choose the NBA:

Which environment -- college or the NBA -- offers me the best opportunity to grow as a basketball player?

Which environment -- college or the NBA -- offers me the best opportunity to grow and develop off the court? 

The answer to both questions is undeniably the NBA.

If those were the deciding factors and not the huge paycheck, then the kid made a huge mistake.  The answer to both of those questions to me is college.

Sam Stouts was KO'd by KJ Noons just 30 seconds into their fight at the TUF Finale last night.  It was an impressive victory for Noons.  Following the knockout and while Stouts was still clearly dazed, he put the referee in a choke hold.

So I guess this is the type of stuff they will be doing on the new MTV show "Off The Bat."  Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo takes meatball batting practice for some reason.  Because he's Italian?  Are they going to be doing stereotypical stunts the entire time on this show?

Adam Dunn is definitely not know for his speed.  Despite this fact Red Sox pitcher and former White Sox teammate Jake Peavy decided to keep Dunn close to first, just in case maybe.  Dunn did have a whole step off of first lead.

Despite the failure of their fans to spell out "Beat LA," the Dodgers still managed to do so.  It's one thing if you're spelling out something that is twenty letters long or something in the stands that might prove to be more difficult getting everyone in order, but this is only six letters and it proved to be too difficult.

New Ranger Prince Fielder finally went deep, hitting his first as a Ranger.  But it's the fan who stole the show, he first makes the play then gets his "Nae Nae" on.  This seems to be the new go to move taking over from my favorite "The Bernie."

Panic Button caught up with Pete Rose in Las Vegas while Rose was doing a signing of some sort and asked him about the Hall of Fame and PED's.  We all know the all time hits leader should be in the Hall of Fame and he should be forgiven for his mistakes he made as a manager.  I think a second chance is all he's asking for.

We should have known that the woman spotted with Johnny Manziel at the Rangers game is a model, because why wouldn't she be.

Not long after the Titans released Chris Johnson, he's found a new team.  After meeting with the Jets yesterday, the two sides came to an agreement and Johnson is now a Jet.

He joins a revamped offense that has added Micheal Vick and Eric Decker this off season and looks to put up some point this year.  The Jets announced the Johnson deal on twitter:

With all of their moves this off season on the offense are they now legit? 

So this guy left the backpacks at the Boston Marathon finish line yesterday. As you can probably tell by his bare feet and black veil, he suffers from mental illness. He's been identified as 25 year old, Kevin Edson, and placed the backpacks with rice cookers, filled with confetti at the finish line as some sort of symbolism as he claims, via Larry Brown Sports:

“I knew what I was doing, it was being conceived in my head,” he reportedly said at the time of his arrest. “It’s symbolism. The performance got the best of me.”
